What Causes Sagging Breasts and What You Can Do to Reduce Sagging

We are sorry to deliver the unfortunate news, but all breasts tend to sag after some time. While some lucky women experience a barely noticeable sag, others are far more affected. So, what are the main causes behind sagging breasts?

Although we immediately connect breast sagging with pregnancy and breastfeeding, that isn’t the only cause (though it is a prominent one). There is a number of things we do on a daily basis which contribute to sagging.

We present you with a list of main causes of sagging breasts:

Pregnancy and/or Breastfeeding

Let’s start with the cause we already briefly mentioned – pregnancy and breastfeeding. When we are pregnant, our breasts go through various changes. In most cases, they grow in order to prepare for breastfeeding. Once we give birth, our breasts get filled with milk, which enlarges and stretches the skin even more.

Once you stop breastfeeding, the breast milk dries up, and our breasts usually seem small, empty, and saggy to us. However, these changes can happen even if we decided to skip breastfeeding.
